BERAKAS GARRISON, Wednesday 20 April 2016 – The 22nd Ex Airguard Exercise Planning Conference (EPC) took place at the No.2 Wing headquarters, where Major (U) Peter bin Ulat, Acting Commanding Officer of No.2 Wing from Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) and Lieutenant Colonel Ang Teo Hong, Commanding Officer of 18 DA Bn from Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) had interactive discussions on the coordination and planning for the upcoming 22nd Ex Airguard which will take place later this year in Brunei Darussalam.
During the conference, both sides discussed on various issues such as administration, personnel and weapon systems to be used for the exercise. RSAF assets to participate in the exercise include the RBS-70, Portable Search and Target Aquicition Radar (PSTAR) and Remote Weapon Data (RWD) in order to enhance interoperability between the two air forces through the joint conduct of exercise battle procedure and field deployment.
At the sidelines of the EPC, the delegation from the RSAF had a courtesy call with Lieutenant Colonel (U) Abdul Rahman bin Haji Durahman, Acting Commander Operation Group of Royal Brunei Air Force at Royal Brunei Air Force Base, Rimba. The delegation from RSAF also had an opportunity to visit various places and facilities for training which include Bukit Agok Live Firing Range.
The EPC serves to highlight the strong defence relations and strengthen the bonds of mutual understanding and cooperation between the two countries.
