Rimba Air Base, Thursday, 14 January 2021 – Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) Forward Operating Base (FOB) Exercise 2021 was held and deployed on Sunday, 10 January 2021 which consists 4 x S70i Helicopters, 1 x BO105 Helicopter and a total of 150 personnel from various RBAirF units including the Air Operation Centre (AOC), 11 Squadron, 12 Squadron, 236 Squadron, Supply Squadron, 51 Squadron, 52 Squadron, First Line Mechanics (FLM), Survival Equipment Section (SES), Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and Military Transport (MT).
The 5 days FOB Deployment Exercise was led by Captain (U) Azhar @ Reamy bin Haji Jumat, Nominated FOB Detachment Commander which took place at the 2nd Battalion, Tutong Camp, Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF). The Exercise was last conducted in the year 2007 and this year was focused on assessing and evaluating the effectiveness of the current Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for FOB Deployment. The Exercise has given the units involved opportunities to identify any underlying issues and gaps in order to improve operations within the RBAirF units as well as improve interoperability between RBAirF and RBLF. Through this exercise the participating units were able to gain valuable knowledge and experience apart from strengthening the comradeship between the units.
The Exercise was concluded with the Recovery Phase of the FOB Deployment which ended at the Rimba Air Base via Air and Land Movement assets.

Forward Operating Base (FOB) Deployment Tentera Udara Diraja Brunei (TUDB) 2021 telah dilaksanakan pada hari Ahad, 10 Januari 2021 yang lalu terdiri daripada 4 buah helikopter S70i, 1 buah helikopter BO105 dan seramai 150 anggota dari pelbagai unit TUDB iaitu Pusat Gerakan Tentera Udara (PGTU), 11 Skuadron, 12 Skuadron, Skuadron 236, Skuadron Bekal, Skuadron 51, Skuadron 52,
First Line Mechanics (FLM),
Survival Equipment Section (SES),
Ground Support Equipment (GSE) dan
Military Transport (MT).
Eksesais selama 5 hari ini telah diketuai oleh Kapten (U) Azhar @ Reamy bin Haji Jumat,
FOB Detachment Commander yang dilantik dan mengambil tempat di Batalion Kedua, Perkhemahan Tutong, Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (TDDB). Kali terakhir eksesais ini dilaksanakan ialah pada tahun 2007 dan pada tahun ini Eksesais memfokuskan untuk menilai keberkesanan
Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) yang sedia ada disamping mengenalpasti kekurangan untuk meningkatkan operasi dalam unit TUDB serta meningkatkan
interoperability antara TUDB dan TDDB . Melalui latihan ini, unit yang terlibat juga dapat memperoleh pengetahuan dan pengalaman yang berharga selain daripada mengukuhkan persahabatan di antara unit-unit.
