?Friday, 28 November 2025 ? Four officers from the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF), led by Lieutenant Colonel (U) Pengiran Haji Mohammad Khairul Arifin bin Pengiran Haji Mohammad Salleh, Commandant Training Group, held a Subject Matter Expert Exchange (SMEE) with Vietnam Air Defence-Air Force (VNADAF). The exchange under the ?Cooperation Plan of 2025: Flight Safety and Air Rescue and Relief” was held in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam from 24?28 November 2025 and was also attended by the Defence Attache of Brunei Darussalam in Vietnam.
The RBAirF and the VNADAF shared perspectives on Flight Safety and Search and Rescue, two areas central to safe and effective air procedures. The Flight Safety discussions focused on the importance of preventive practices, open reporting, and sustaining a strong safety culture within both forces. Meanwhile, the Search and Rescue segment explored each side’s approaches to mission coordination, readiness, and support for emergency response. The conversations reflected a shared desire to learn from one another’s experiences and to continue strengthening cooperation in these areas.
The SMEE aims to strengthen mutual understanding in both Flight Safety as well as Air Rescue and Relief operations while creating opportunities to enhance bilateral cooperation between the RBAirF and the VNADAF.

Flight Safety and
Air Rescue and Relief” yang berlangsung di Republik Sosialis Vietnam dari 24 hingga 28 November 2025. Penasihat Pertahanan Negara Brunei Darussalam di Vietnam turut mengiringi delegasi sepanjang program tersebut.
Sepanjang sesi perkongsian tersebut, wakil dari TUDB dan VNADAF bertukar pandangan mengenai aspek Keselamatan Penerbangan dan
Search and Rescue (SAR), dalam memastikan operasi penerbangan dilaksanakan dengan selamat dan berkesan. Perbincangan mengenai Keselamatan Penerbangan menekankan kepentingan amalan pencegahan,
open reporting, serta usaha berterusan untuk mengukuhkan budaya keselamatan dalam kedua-dua tentera udara. Sesi berkaitan
SAR pula menyentuh pendekatan setiap pihak dalam penyelarasan misi, kesiapsiagaan, dan bantuan untuk tindak balas kecemasan. Pertukaran pandangan ini mencerminkan komitmen bersama untuk saling belajar dan terus mengukuhkan kerjasama dalam bidang ini.
SMEE ini bertujuan untuk mengukuhkan persefahaman bersama dalam aspek
Flight Safety serta
Search and Rescue Operations, di samping membuka peluang untuk meningkatkan lagi kerjasama dua hala antara TUDB dan VNADAF.
