RIMBA, FRI, Jul 24 2015 – The Air Regiment Base Defence Squadron officiated the first series of the Navy Base Defence Course for the RBN, on 24th July 2015. This course which started on the 27th of July 2015 is expected to be completed on 21st September 2015. Present as the Guest of Honour during the opening ceremony was Col (U) Mohammad Sharif bin Dato Paduka Haji Ibrahim, Operations Group Commander, Royal Brunei Air Force.
Within the nine weeks course, a total of 30 candidates will be attending the course and throughout the course and the attendees will be tested both mentally and physically. The objective of the course is to produce professional, well-trained based defence personals and also enhance their leadership skills. The candidates will be trained the basics of base defence and will be taught how to conduct properly task requirements, such as vehicle checkpoint, anti-riot and key point guard. The prospect of both RBAir and RBN is an unmitigated success with the set up of this Navy Base Defence Course.
