MALAYSIA, Fri, Aug 28 2015 - TUDB recently attended the Final Planning Conference (FPC) for the Search and Rescue Exercise (SAREX) Malaysia Brunei (MALBRU) series 11/2015 between Tentera Udara Diraja Brunei and Tentera Udara Diraja Malaysia (TUDM). The conference was held at the Bayview Hotel in Penang, Malaysia from 24 to 28 August 2015.Leading the two man delegation was Lt Col (U) Abd Rahman bin Haji Durahman, Commanding Officer Operations Wing, TUDB as the co-chairman for the FPC and TUDM was headed by Lt Col Effendy bin Jalani TUDM, Head of Operations MAWILUD 2, TUDM, co-chairman for TUDM.
During the conference, both sides discussed matters pertaining to the exercise, finalizing the administrative preparations and exercise scenarios so that to ensure that the exercise will run smoothly. The main objective of the exercise is to enhance and strengthen the current working relationship between TUDB and TUDM through the efforts of integration and cooperation in the coordination of joint SAR, as well as sharing and exchange of SAR experience and knowledge whilst implementing procedures of interoperability.
SAREX MALBRU 1I/2015 is scheduled to be held from 19-23 October 2015 which will be hosted by TUDM at Labuan Air Base and the exercise itself will be held in the waters of Brunei and Labuan. SAREX MALBRU is held every two years and hosted on a rotation basis.
