BERAKAS, Saturday 19 November 2016 – Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) hosted golf tournament at the RBA Golf Club, Berakas in conjunction of the RBAirF 50th Anniversary Celebrations. The event was opened to Royal Brunei Airforce Personnel, and invited guests; comprising of former Deputy Defence Minister, former RBAF and RBAirf Commanders, Defence advisor/Attaches and senior officers from the Ministry of Defence. The tournament was followed by a luncheon and prize presentation ceremony in the RBA Club House. Sjn (U) Roy Usmeirman bin Hj Apandi won the open category, while Brigadier General (B) Dato Seri Pahlawan Hj Jofri bin Hj Abdullah won the VIP category.
In attendance was the Deputy Minister of Defence, First Admiral (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit and the Commander of the RBAF, Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah, and Commander of the RBAirF, Brigadier General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Shahril Anwar bin Haji Ma’awiah. Shortly after the luncheon, the Commander of the RBAirF gave a speech in which he addressed an appreciation for the service to all who had served throughout the RBAirF 50th years of establishment and the recognition of the role it play towards the security of Brunei and the region.
