Lopburi, Thailand, 19 May 17 – The Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) was invited to the 1st Subject Matter Expert Exchange (SMEE) Program on Aircraft Recovery with its counterpart from the Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF). It was held from 15 – 19 May 17 in Khok Kathiam Air Force Base, Wing 2, Lopburi, Thailand. The team of three officers was led by Maj (U) Pg Khairul Ariffin bin Pg Hj Md Salleh, Senior Engineering officer, RBAirF.The 1st SMEE program main objective was to give both air forces the opportunity to learn respective Techniques, Tactics and Procedures on Aircraft Recovery as well as some other topics related to it such as Aircrash Pre Action Plan and Search and Rescue. Other than discussions and workshop, the RTAF also held a static display of their equipments used for Aircraft Recovery as well as Search and Rescue. The highlight of the SMEE was the demonstration on the Aircraft Recovery procedure which was also attended by the Khok Kathiam Base Commander as well as other executives from the Airforce Base. Apart from the SMEE, cultural activities such as visits were also prepared by the RTAF. With this SMEE program, it further enhances the close relationship and strong cooperation between the two air forces.
