RIMBA AIR BASE, Thursday 22 September 2016 – The 7th Final Planning Conference for the Latihan Bersama (Latma) Brunesia series VII/2016 between Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) and Tentera Nasional Indonesia- Angkatan Udara (TNI AU) was held at the Air Movement Centre, Rimba Air Base from 19 to 22 September 2016.
Latma Brunesia is a two yearly exercise that serves as a platform to strengthen and highlight the capacity and interoperability of the two Air Forces. During the conference, both Air Forces discussed matters pertaining to the coordination and execution of the upcoming exercise, forecasted at the end of October. The exercise aims to further enhance RBAirF and TNI AU’s interoperability, as well as strengthen the already existing comradeship and work relations between the two forces, in addition to a greater exchange of knowledge and experience in the various levels of operations and tactics.
Leading the two delegations, Co-Directors of the exercise were Maj (U) Irwan bin Yahya, Commanding Officer of No 3 Wing for RBAirF, and Col Pnb Ferdinand Goring, Senior Staff Officer of Training from TNI AU.
The exercise is scheduled to commence on the 24-28 October 2016, which will be hosted by RBAirF at Rimba Air Base with most of the exercise’s execution being conducted at the Field Firing Area (FFA), Binturan, Penanjong Camp.
