METRO MANILA, PHILLIPPINES 02-05 May 2017 – The Royal Brunei Air Force attended the 4th ASEAN Air Force Education and Training (AAFET) Workshop in Shangrila-Fort Hotel, Bonafacio Global City. The opening ceremony was officiated by Major General Rozzano D BriguezAFP. Chief of Air Staff, Philippine Air Force, Chairperson of the 4th AAFET Working Group. The event was attended by 10 ASEAN Air Force members namely Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippine (host), Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. The Royal Brunei Air Force were represented by Lieutenant Colonel (U) Hishamuddin bin Abidin (head of delegate), Chief of Staff of Royal Brunei Air Force (Head of Delegate) and Major (U) Pg Muhammad Farisan bin Pg Hj Metassan, Staff Officer Grade 2 A7 Training.
This event is the output of Pre-AAFET-WG workshop held in March 2017. In this event, all the head of delegates from the 10 ASEAN Air Forces have agreed upon and consequently, signed the minutes of meeting of the 4th AAFET Working Group.
The main objectives of the 4th AAFET- Working Group meeting is to finalize the validated ASEAN Air Forces Standard Operating Procedure for Human Assistance and Disaster Response (AAF SOP HADR) prior to the approval of ASEAN Air Chiefs and to present the enhanced AACC Website as well as the approved AAFET 3- Year Work Plan.
