RIMBA AIR FORCE BASE, Tuesday, 14 March 2023 – The Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) officers held a farewell and welcoming curry lunch at the Air Movement Centre for outgoing British loan service, Captain Gareth Cone, and incoming British loan service Captain Paul Medford.
Present as the Guest of Honour was Brigadier General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Mohammad Sharif bin Dato Paduka Haji Ibrahim, Commander of the RBAirF. The event commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Ustaz Pengiran Fakrul Syakirin bin Pengiran Zainuddin, Religious Teacher of RBAirF, followed by a speech from the Guest of Honour and Captain Gareth Cone.
The curry lunch was held to honour and convey the deepest appreciation for Captain Gareth Cone throughout his service to the RBAirF. As an instructor on the Blackhawk S-70i, his students were able to reap the benefits of a high-calibre instructor to further elevate the standards of military aviation for the RBAirF.
Having British Loan Service officers serving in the RBAirF also acts as a platform to further strengthen bilateral cooperation at the working level, signifying the close relationship between the Royal Air Force (RAF) and the RBAirF.
The luncheon proceeded with memento presentations and concluded with a group photo session.
ACARA CURRY LUNCH UNTUK PEGAWAI PERKHIDMATAN PINJAMAN BRITISH, TUDB
PANGKALAN TENTERA UDARA RIMBA, Selasa, 14 Mac 2023 – Pegawai-pegawai Tentera Udara Diraja Brunei (TUDB) telah mengadakan acara Curry Lunch di Pusat Gerakan Udara TUDB sempena penukaran anggota Perkhidmatan Pinjaman British, Kapten Gareth Cone, dan penggantinya Kapten Paul Medford.
Hadir selaku Tetamu Kehormat ialah Brigedier Jeneral (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Mohammad Sharif bin Dato Paduka Haji Ibrahim, Pemerintah TUDB. Majlis dimulakan dengan bacaan Surah Al-Fatihah diketuai oleh Ustaz Pengiran Fakrul Syakirin bin Pengiran Zainuddin, Guru Agama TUDB, diikuti dengan ucapan daripada Tetamu Kehormat dan Kapten Gareth Cone.
Acara Curry Lunch itu diadakan sebagai penghargaan kepada Kapten Gareth Cone sepanjang perkhidmatannya di TUDB. Sebagai seorang jurulatih Blackhawk S-70i, pelatihnya mendapat manfaat daripada seorang jurulatih berkaliber tinggi untuk meningkatkan lagi taraf penerbangan ketenteraan TUDB.
Mempunyai pegawai Perkhidmatan Pinjaman British yang berkhidmat di TUDB juga adalah merupakan salah satu platform untuk mengukuhkan lagi kerjasama dua hala di peringkat kerja yang menandakan hubungan rapat di antara Royal Air Force (RAF) dan TUDB.
Majlis makan tengah hari pada hari tersebut diteruskan dengan penyampaian cenderahati dan diakhiri dengan sesi bergambar ramai.
