SAFTI LIVE FIRING AREA (LFA), Singapore, Tuesday 05 September 2017 – The Closing Ceremony of Ex AIRGUARD 23/17 between the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) and the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) was held at the, SAFTI LFA Training Shed 1, Singapore.The closing ceremony was presided by both the RBAirF Commander of Operations Group, Lt Col (U) Abdul Rahman bin Hj Durahman, and Commander Divisional Air Defence Group, SLTC Kenneth Chiong Beng Han. Also in attendance was Brigadier General Jonathan Tan Chin Kwang, Commander Participation Command, RSAF as the witnessing officer.
Lt Col (U) Abdul Rahman bin Hj Durahman was given the honour to present a closing speech after touring the field deployment sites with SLTC Kenneth Chiong Beng Han. In his speech, he emphasised that an exercise like Ex AIRGUARD has become a significant platform in promoting military cooperation between the two Air Forces.
The ceremony then saw the handing-over of the Ex AIRGUARD Flag by the Commanding Officer of 18 Divisional Air Defence Artillery Battalion (18 DA Bn) RSAF to the Commanding Officer of the No.2 Wing RBAirF as a symbol of officially handing over the duty as the host country for next year’s Ex AIRGUARD.
Ex AIRGUARD, together with the other bilateral exercises and professional exchanges between the Singapore Armed Forces and Royal Brunei Armed Forces, has reinforced and shall continue to promote closer defence ties between Brunei Darussalam and Republic of Singapore.
MAJLIS PENUTUP LATIHAN DUA HALA EX AIRGUARD 23/17
PADANG TEMBAK SAFTI, Singapura, Selasa 5 September 2017 – Majlis Penutup Ex AIRGUARD 23/17 diantara Tentera Udara Diraja Brunei (TUDB) bersama Tentera Udara Republik Singapura (TURS) dikendalikan di Padang Tembak SAFTI, Singapura.
Majlis Penutup Ex AIRGUARD 23/17 dihadiri oleh Pemerintah Kumpulan Gerakan TUDB, Lt Kol (U) Abdul Rahman bin Hj Durahman bersama Pemerintah Divisional Air Group TURS, SLTC Kenneth Chiong Beng Han. Turut hadir bagi majlis tersebut adalah Brigedier Jeneral Jonathan Tan Chin Kwang, Pemerintah Participation Command, TURS.
Lt Kol (U) Abdul Rahman bin Hj Durahman, Pemerintah Kumpulan Gerakan TUDB diberi penghormatan untuk menyampaikan ucapan khas dimana beliau menekankan kepentingan Ex AIRGUARD dalam menggalakkan kerjasama diantara kedua Tentera Udara.
Majlis diteruskan dengan penyampaian bendera Ex AIRGUARD daripada Pegawai Pemerintah 18 Divisional Air Defence Artillery Battalion, TURS kepada Pegawai Pemerintah No 2 Wing TUDB yang melambangkan penyerahan tunggungjawab sebagai tuan rumah Ex AIRGUARD bagi tahun depan di Brunei Darussalam.
Ex AIRGUARD bersama latihan dua hala, termasuk pertukaran professional yang lain diantara Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei bersama Angkatan Bersenjata Republik Singapura, telahpun mengukuhkan persahabatan dan akan terus menggalakkan hubungan pertahanan yang lebih dekat diantara Negara Brunei Darussalam bersama Republik SIngapura.
