RIMBA AIR FORCE BASE, Friday, 15 September 2023 – The Closing Ceremony for Exercise Pacific Angel (Ex PACANGEL) 23-3 between the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) and United States Pacific Air Forces (US PACAF) was held today at the Air Movement Centre (AMC), Rimba Air Force Base (Rimba AFB). The 5-day exercise was successfully conducted from 11 to 15 September 2023.
Present as the Guests of Honor for the ceremony were Colonel (U) Hishamuddin bin Abidin, Acting Deputy Commander RBAirF and Brigadier General Sarah H. Russ, Mobilization Assistant to the Director of Strategy, Plans, Programs, and Requirements, Headquarters of Pacific Air Forces.
The event commenced with remarks and exercise recap by Ex PACANGEL 23-3 Co-Chairs and followed by speeches by both Guests of Honor. The closing ceremony concluded with the exchange of mementos and a group photo session.
This exercise marks the first iteration of Ex PACANGEL conducted in Negara Brunei Darussalam. It also carries a significant milestone of being the first exercise held between the two countries’ Air Forces. An achievement from this exercise was that personnel from both organisations, acted as a platform to enhance common bonds, encourage positive sentiments, and advance local steadiness by establishing relationships and a shared sense of mission.
UPACARA PENUTUP EKSESAIS PACIFIC ANGEL 23-3
PANGKALAN TENTERA UDARA RIMBA, Jumaat, 15 September 2023 – Upacara Penutup Eksesais Pacific Angel (Ex PACANGEL) 23-3 di antara Tentera Udara Diraja Brunei (TUDB) dan United States Pacific Air Forces (US PACAF) telah dilaksanakan bertempat di Pusat Pergerakan Udara, Pangkalan Tentera Udara Rimba (PTU Rimba). Eksesais selama 5 hari itu telah dijalankan dari 11 hingga 15 September 2023.
Hadir selaku Tetamu-Tetamu Kehormat Majlis adalah Kolonel (U) Hishamuddin bin Abidin, Pemangku Timbalan Pemerintah TUDB dan Brigedier Jeneral Sarah H. Russ, Mobilization Assistant to the Director of Strategy, Plans, Programs, and Requirements, Headquarters of Pacific Air Forces.
Acara dimulakan dengan pembuka kata serta imbasan kembali eksesais daripada Pengerusi-Pengerusi Bersama eksesais dan diikuti dengan ucapan daripada Tetamu-Tetamu Kehormat Majlis. Penamat Upacara Penutup adalah pertukaran cenderahati kenangan dan sesi bergambar ramai.
Eksesais ini menandakan pertama kalinya Ex PACANGEL diadakan di Negara Brunei Darussalam. Ianya juga merupakan julung kalinya eksesais seperti ini diadakan di antara Tentera Udara kedua-dua buah negara. Antara pencapaian hasil eksesais ini adalah menjadi landasan yang membolehkan kedua-dua Tentera Udara untuk memupuk ikatan bersama, kesantunan, meningkatkan kestabilan serantau melalui hubungan akrab dan dalam mencapai matlamat yang sama.
