Bandar Seri Begawan, Wednesday, 13 October 2021 – A total of 3 RBAirF Officers have completed the 11th RBAF Command and Staff Course (CSC), in a closing ceremony held virtually today.
Present as the Guest of Honour was Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Retired) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister of Defence II. Also present were Commander of the RBAF, Vice-Chancellor of University Brunei Darussalam (UBD), Ambassadors, High Commissioners, Deputy Commissioner of the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF), Defence and RBAF Executive Committee as well as invited guests.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Surah Al-Mujadilah. The ceremony then proceeded with a welcoming remark by Lieutenant Colonel (U) Azmie Iskandar bin Ariffin, Acting Commandant of the Defence Academy RBAF and followed by a speech by Yang Berhormat Minister of Defence II. The ceremony continued with the presentation of certificates to the course participants and followed by the announcement of the awards winners. Major (U) Arif Shamirul bin Salleh received the RBAF Commendation Award, while Major (U) Wan Muhammad Azem bin Haji Md Aminuddin received the Commandant’s Award. Both officers are the ‘home grown products’ from the first intake of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Officer Cadet School in 2008.
Major (U) Wan Muhammad Azem mentioned that the course has taught him to view all issues via a critical lens and help enhance their analytical skills, negotiation techniques, reflective values and most importantly equip them with the knowledge required in preparation for assuming more senior positions. While for Major (U) Arif Shamirul, the “golden threads” of course are critical thinking and communication skills. The most valuable learning for him however, took place during the syndicate and cohort level discussions with the peers and especially the discussions which took place at the social, more personal level.
The ceremony concluded with a showcase of ‘The 11th RBAF Command and Staff Course Journey’ video, recitation of closing doa and a virtual photo session.

TUDB TAMAT KURSUS MAKTAB TURUS ABDB KE-11
BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Rabu, 13 Oktober 2021 – Seramai 3 Pegawai TUDB telah menamatkan Kursus Maktab Turus ABDB sesi ke-11 pada hari ini di majlis penutup yang berlangsung buat julung kalinya secara dalam talian.
Hadir selaku Tetamu Kehormat ialah Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Mejar Jeneral (Bersara) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Menteri Pertahanan Kedua.
Turut hadir ialah Pemerintah ABDB, Naib-Canselor Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), Duta dan Pesuruhjaya Tinggi luar negara di Negara Brunei Darussalam, Penolong Pesuruhjaya Pasukan Polis Diraja Brunei (PDB), Jawatankuasa Eksekutif Pertahanan dan ABDB serta Jemputan-jemputan Khas.
Majlis dimulakan dengan bacaan Surah Al-Fatihah dan Surah Al-Mujadilah ayat 11-12. Majlis kemudian diteruskan dengan ucapan alu-aluan oleh Leftenan Kolonel (U) Azmie Iskandar bin Ariffin, Pemangku Komandan Akademi Pertahanan ABDB diikuti dengan ucapan oleh Tetamu Kehormat. Majlis diteruskan dengan penyampaian sijil kepada peserta-peserta kursus dan diikuti dengan pengumuman pemenang-pemenang anugerah. Anugerah RBAF Commendation Award telah dianugerahkan kepada Mejar (U) Arif Shamirul telah manakala Mejar (U) Wan Muhammad Azem bin Haji Md Aminuddin telah dianugerahkan Anugerah Commandant’s Award. Kedua-dua pegawai adalah ‘home grown products’ iaitu pegawai-pegawai yang dilatih dari pengambilan pertama Sekolah Pegawai Kadet ABDB tahun 2008.
Mejar (U) Wan Muhammad Azem bin Haji Md Aminuddin menyatakan kursus tersebut telah membuka minda dalam memperkembangkan kemahiran dalam penganalisaan, tatacara perundingan, muhasabah diri dalam membantu bagi persediaan untuk menjawat jawatan lebih tinggi. Sementara itu, Mejar (U) Arif Shamirul memaklumkan “Golden Threads” dari menghadiri kursus tersebut adalah kemahiran komunikasi dan berfikir secara kritikal. Pembelajaran yang paling berharga bagi beliau pula adalah semasa perbincangan dengan ahli sindiket dan semua peserta kursus serta perbincangan yang dilaksanakan secara dalam talian.
