RIMBA AIR FORCE BASE, Wednesday, 31 May 2023 – 11 Squadron and 15 Squadron has been involved in revitalizing the celebration of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) 62nd Anniversary by performing a flypast with 06 Sikorsky Blackhawk S70i aircraft from 11 Squadron and 01 CN-235 aircraft from 15 Squadron, No. 1 Wing, Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF).
After the completion of the flypast, both 11 and 15 Squadron were also involved with an aerial demonstration of the Airborne Static Jump, where 02 Blackhawk S70i dropped 15 of the paratroopers, followed by another 16 paratroopers from the CN-235.
Rehearsals and preparation for the flypast and aerial demonstration took roughly two weeks; where along the way, several milestones have been reached. For 11 Squadron, it was the 31 paratroopers from 04 Blackhawk S70i were dropped in a single pass on 23 May 2023. 15 Squadron on the other hand also achieved dropping 16 paratroopers in a double pass on 20 May 2023 and dropping 31 paratroopers in a single pass on 22 May 2023. All the demonstrations were made possible with careful coordination to ensure the safety of everyone involved as well as timely synchronization for the paratroopers to jump in sequence.
Both squadrons managed to score multiple achievements, specifically for the RBAF’s 62nd Anniversary. It is the first time for the Blackhawk S70i fleet to perform a flypast formation overlooking the Rimba Air Force Base (Rimba AFB) since it was fully operational. 15 Squadron also had their share of the spotlight in terms of the number of paratroopers dropped in a single pass for the Airborne Static Jump technique.

PANGKALAN TENTERA UDARA RIMBA, Rabu, 31 Mei 2023 – Skuadron 11 dan Skuadron 15 telah terlibat dalam memeriahkan sambutan Hari Ulang Tahun Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (HUT ABDB) Ke-62 dengan melaksanakan terbang lalu dengan 06 buah pesawat S70i daripada Skuadron 11 dan 01 pesawat CN-235 dari Skuadron 15, Cawangan No. 1, Tentera Udara Diraja Brunei (TUDB).
Selepas terbang lalu, Skuadron 11 dan 15 melaksanakan demonstrasi udara dengan menerjunkan 16 penerjun dari pesawat Blackhawk S70i dan 15 penerjun, dari pesawat CN-235 menggunakan teknik
Airborne Static Jump.
Latihan dan persiapan untuk terbang lalu serta demonstrasi udara ini berlangsung selama kira-kira 2 minggu, dan beberapa pencapaian penting telah dicapai. Bagi Skuadron 11, pencapaian yang baru ialah menerjunkan 31 penerjun dari 04 Blackhawk S70i dalam satu lintasan pada 23 Mei 2023 dan menerjunkan 16 penerjun dalam dua lintasan udara pada 20 Mei 2023 dan menerjunkan 31 penerjun dalam satu lintasan udara pada 22 Mei 2023 bagi Skuadron 15. Demonstrasi Udara telah dijayakan dengan koordinasi yang teliti bagi memastikan keselamatan bagi semua yang terlibat dan penerjun beraksi pada masa yang tepat mengikut urutan yang telah dirancang.
Kedua-dua skuadron telah menjaringkan beberapa pencapaian, khususnya bagi sambutan Hari Ulang Tahun ABDB Ke-62. Ini adalah kali yang pertama bagi Skuadron 11 membuat formasi terbang lalu di kawasan udara Pangkalan Tentera Udara Rimba (PTU Rimba) sejak beroperasi sepenuhnya. Skuadron 15 turut mencapai pencapaian yang baru dalam hal jumlah penerjun yang dilakukan dalam satu lintasan udara menggunakan teknik penerjunan
Airborne Static Jump.
