MUARA, Tuesday, 31 May 2022 – A new addition to the assets of the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) has been presented to His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam during the 61st Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Anniversary which took place at Muara Naval Base.
Prior to the officiation, a live firing session of the newly accepted Minigun M134D Weapon System was conducted as part of the 11 days course 19 to 27 May 2022 attended by a total of 8 aircrews and 2 armourers of the 11 Squadron and 14 Squadron of RBAirF.
During the live firing session, Brigadier General (U) Dato Paduka Seri Pahlawan Mohammad Sharif bin Dato Paduka Haji Ibrahim, the Commander of the RBAirF had the opportunity to witness the demonstration of the asset firing from the ground, followed with air-to-ground firing on the 24 May 2022 at the Field Firing Area, Binturan Range. Also present to witness the demonstration were the Head of Inspectorate Unit, the Commander of Operation Group and the Commanding Officer of No.1 Wing.
The course was then concluded with the presentation of certificates by the instructor from Dillon Aero, the supplier for the weapon system, to the course participants on the 27 May 2022.
With the addition of M134D, this marks another milestone in enhancing the capabilities of RBAirF and RBAF as whole.
TUDB PERTINGKATKAN ASET DENGAN PENERIMAAN SISTEM SENJATA MINIGUN M134D
MUARA, Selasa, 31 Mei 2022 – Penambahan aset Tentera Udara Diraja Brunei (TUDB) telah pun dipersembahkan kepada Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan Yang Di-Pertuan Negara Brunei Darussalam semasa sambutan Hari Ulang Tahun Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB) ke-61 di Pusat Latihan Tentera Laut (PLTL), Pangkalan Muara, Tentera Laut Diraja Brunei (TLDB).
Sebelum perasmian bagi penambahan aset tersebut, satu sesi penembakan peluru hidup Sistem Senjata Minigun M134D telah dijalankan selama 11 hari dari 19 Mei 2022 hingga 27 Mei 2022 yang mana ianya adalah sebahagian daripada kursus yang dihadiri oleh 8 orang anak buah pesawat dan 2 orang anggota perisai Skuadron 11 dan Skuadron 14 TUDB.
Semasa sesi penembakan peluru hidup system tersebut dijalankan, Brigedier Jeneral (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Mohammad Sharif bin Dato Paduka Haji Ibrahim, Pemerintah TUDB berpeluang untuk menyaksikan sesi penembakan pada sasaran di padang tembak dan penembakan dari pesawat ke sasaran pada 24 Mei 2022 di Padang Tembak Lapangan, Binturan. Turut menyaksikan bersama ialah Ketua Unit Inspektorat, Pemerintah Kumpulan Gerakan, dan Pegawai Pemerintah Cawangan No. 1.
Penutup kursus telah diadakan pada 27 Mei 2022 dengan penyampaian sijil kepada ahli kursus oleh jurulatih-jurulatih daripada Dillon Aero, pembekal bagi Sistem Senjata Minigun M134D.
Dengan penerimaan M134D kedalam aset TUDB, ia menandakan salah satu kemajuan yang telah diusahakan dalam meningkatkan keupayaan TUDB dan ABDB secara amnya.
