SINGAPORE, Monday, 11 September 2023
– No. 2 Wing, Operations Group, Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) and 18 Divisional Air Defence Artillery Battalion, Republic of Singapore Air Force (18 DA Bn RSAF) conducted the 27th Exercise AIRGUARD at the 18 DA Bn, Chong Pang Camp, which was held from 28 August to 11 September 2023. This year’s exercise was hosted by the 18 DA Bn RSAF after a three-year absence due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
The 27th Exercise AIRGUARD was Co-Directed by Lieutenant Colonel Ang Khim Seng, Commanding Officer of 18 DA Bn, RSAF, together with Lieutenant Colonel (U) Amierul Halip bin Talip, Commanding Officer, No. 2 Wing, Operations Group, RBAirF. This year’s exercise involved the participation of more than 97 personnel; and the use of technologically advanced Ground-Based Air Defense (GBAD) Systems from both air forces’.
Exercise AIRGUARD is a GBAD bilateral exercise conducted annually between RBAirF and RSAF which allows both air force personnel to engage in a broad spectrum of activities as well as interactions, other than the exchange of knowledge, skills and experiences from an air defence perspective. Additionally, this exercise also acts as a platform for strengthening further cooperation and cohesiveness, whilst also improving the interoperability of GBAD systems in tactics, techniques as well as procedures.
TUDB SERTAI EKSESAIS AIRGUARD KE-27
SINGAPURA, Isnin, 11 September 2023 – Cawangan No. 2, Kumpulan Gerakan, Tentera Udara Diraja Brunei (TUDB) dan
18 Divisional Air Defence Artillery Battalion, Tentera Udara Republik Singapura (18 DA Bn, TURS) telah mengadakan Eksesais AIRGUARD ke-27 bertempat di 18 DA Bn, Kem Chong Pang bermula 28 Ogos 2023 sehingga 11 September 2023. 18 DA Bn TURS telah menjadi tuan rumah bagi eksesais kali ini selepas penangguhan selama tiga tahun disebabkan Pandemik COVID-19.
Eksesais AIRGUARD ke-27 ini telah dirancangkan secara bersama di antara Leftenan Kolonel Ang Khim Seng, Pegawai Pemerintah 18 DA Bn, TURS dan Leftenan Kolonel (U) Amierul Halpi bin Talip, Pegawai Pemerintah Cawangan No. 2, Kumpulan Gerakan, TUDB. Eksesais kali ini telah menglibatkan lebih dari 97 anggota; di samping penggunaan sistem senjata pertahanan udara berteknologi maju dari kedua- kedua buah Tentera Udara.
Eksesais AIRGUARD adalah latihan tahunan pertahanan udara yang dijalankan secara dua hala di antara TUDB dan TURS. Eksesais ini secara amnya bertujuan untuk menglibatkan kedua-dua buah Tentera Udara, dalam berbagai aktiviti serta program interaksi selain daripada perkongsian maklumat, kemahiran dan pengalaman dibidang pertahanan udara.
Eksesais ini turut menjadi landasan bagi memperkukuhkan lagi kerjasama dan kesepaduan di antara kedua-kedua buah Tentera Udara. Tambahan pula ianya jja bertujuan mempertingkatkan kebolehan beroperasi (interoperability) dalam taktik, teknik and prosedur.
